The Magic of the Stitch: Understanding Chinese Embroidery Techniques

What makes Chinese embroidery so special? It's the technique.
Unlike Western embroidery which often uses the cross-stitch, Chinese embroidery relies on a vast library of stitches:

- Bian Xiu (Chain Stitch): Creates continuous, flowing lines perfect for clouds and water.
- Cao Xiu (Grass Stitch): Used for shading and creating a sense of movement in grass or hair.
- Da Zi (Seed Stitch): Creates a bumpy, textured effect, often used for flower centers.
- Luan Zhen (Random Stitch): A modern technique that allows for hyper-realistic painting effects.
We use a combination of these stitches to create depth and texture. When you run your fingers over our bag, you can feel the 3D texture—the bumps of the seeds, the smooth flow of the silk. It's a tactile experience that machine-made bags can never replicate.
